Making this recipe involves quite a few steps.
There aren’t a lot of steps involved in making Turkish delight, but it is best to be attentive while you cook the hot sugar syrup for the Turkish delight.
1.The sugar syrup must be cooked.
The temperature at which sugar is cooked is critical when making sugar confections such as caramel sauce, toffee, and taffy. A soft ball stage is reached when 240° Fahrenheit (116° Celsius) is reached in the cooking of lokum sugar syrup.

Cooked sugar cannot be measured without risking burns. Candy thermometers should be used immediately.
2.The mixture of the pomegranate juice and the cornstarch should be combined.
In a Dutch oven, whisk pomegranate juice with cornstarch.
In a large pot, whisk Turkish delight
Pomegranate base that has been cooked
3.Mix the cornstarch mixture with the syrup.
Added syrup in small amounts at a time, whisk until complete incorporation and smoothness is achieved after 45 minutes of simmering.
4. The candy must be chilled until it sets in a heatproof dish.

It’s important to remember that cooked lokum remains very hot for a very long time.
If you want your dish not to crack, make sure it is heatproof.
The lokum base is poured into a glass pan once it has been warmed up
THE CANDY IS COATED AND CUT
- Sprinkle cornstarch and powdered sugar on the work surface. Candy will stick if you don’t.
- The parchment paper should be removed from the Turkish delight when it is flipped over.
- Sprinkle powdered sugar mixture on the bottom. It doesn’t need to be much; just enough to prevent the pieces from sticking to each other.Cut into squares by slicing into strips.
- Cover the Turkish delight in cornstarch and powder sugar after flipping it over and removing the parchment paper. Toss the pieces in cornstarch and powdered sugar after slicing and cutting.

RECIPE TIPS FOR TURKISH DELIGHTS
- Make sure the cornstarch is well dissolved by stirring well.
The lokum mixture needs to be whisked and stirred thoroughly to avoid lumps of cornstarch that will turn rock hard once the mixture hardens.
- Coating options are available
Traditionally, Turkish delight is coated with cornstarch and powdered sugar to prevent pieces from sticking together.
In place of pistachios, you may use your favorite nut, such as walnuts or almonds. Colored sugar crystals can add a sweet kick to the dessert. If you want to match the flavor of the cornstarch mixture with food coloring, you can add a drop or two.
- Keeping Lokum in storage
Airtight containers are ideal for storing candy. Keeping the container at room temperature prevents the powdered sugar from dissolving. Up to four weeks will be enough time for them to stay fresh.
