Qatar Petroleum (QP) successfully incorporated AMWAJ Catering Services Company as a fully owned subsidiary in 2006 under the direction of Qatar Petroleum’s Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman, and Managing Director. AMWAJ was formed to provide services, which were currently being provided by numerous foreign industrial catering companies, to QP and its subsidiaries & affiliates.
Through AMWAJ, Qatar Petroleum aims to be a professional hospitality service provider, working to the highest international standards, specifically geared towards contracts in the Oil & Gas industry. The Russell Partnership from the United Kingdom and KPMG from Doha provided initial consulting support to AMWAJ during its initial phase.
The consultant is advising AMWAJ in ensuring that the systems and procedures it implements, for example, in quality control and health and safety management, are effective and of the highest international standards. Originally a QP subsidiary, AMWAJ has now become part of Gulf International Services Holding Company, a stock market listed company, becoming a true national catering organization. Our company believes that Qatar will benefit economically in the long run from fully owned Qatari hospitality businesses.
