Corn & Potato Sandwich on a Tava

Ingredients needed:
- 8 slices of bread
- 15 tbsp butter (6 tbsp for spreading, 6 tbsp for brushing, 3 tbsp for cooking)
- Serving wafers and tomato ketchupÂ
Stuffing ingredients:
- Boil and mash 3/4 cup of potatoes
- 1/4 cup grated carrotsÂ
- 1/4 cup boiled sweet corn kernels
- 1 1/2 teaspoons of green chutney
- 2 tablespoons of mayonnaise
- 11/2 teaspoons of cheese spread
- Red chilli flakes (1 tsp)Â
- To taste, add salt and freshly ground black pepper
A step-by-step guide to making stuffing:
1. Add boiled and mashed potatoes to a deep bowl to make potato and corn stuffing.
2. Grate carrots and add them to the mixture. Additionally, you can add boiled peas, french beans, etc. It’s optional.
3. Stir in the sweet corn kernels that have been boiled.
4. Add the green chutney now.
5. Pour the mayonnaise on top.
6. Spread the cheese on top.
7. Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper and add the dry chilli flakes.
8. Stir well and your stuffing is ready!

Sandwiches made on a tava with potato and corn:
1. Separate the stuffing into 4 equal portions. Keep aside.
2. Remove the crusts from all sides of the bread slices.
3. Lay two slices of bread on a clean, dry surface.
4. Spread each slice of bread with 1/2 tbsp of butter.
5. Spread one buttered bread slice with a portion of the prepared stuffing.
6. Spread it evenly over the surface.
7. Place another piece of bread on top with the buttered side facing downward.
8. Add half a tablespoon of butter evenly to the top.
9. Prepare the nonstick tava by melting 1/2 tbsp of butter.

10. Cook the sandwich on a medium flame until the buttered side is golden brown and the sandwich is heated through.
11. Cook from both sides after flipping.
12. Slice the sandwich diagonally into two equal pieces.
13. Serve with tomato ketchup and wafers immediately.
