Calling Apps in the UAE that are Free to use
Are you wanting to catch up with your family or friends, but you can’t? The Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA) has recently approved several video and voice calling apps in the UAE.
In the UAE, Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) apps are regulated by the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TDRA).
Currently, the UAE allows 11 VoIP applications.
1. Microsoft Teams
A Microsoft account holder can use Microsoft Teams to conduct video conferences for free. Up to 100 users can participate in a meeting with the free version for 60 minutes.
Currently, the app is available for Apple, Android, and Microsoft Windows devices.
2. Zoom
With Zoom, you can organize video conferences with participants, share meeting links, and invite them to join. Up to 100 people can attend a meeting in the free version for up to 40 minutes.
3. Google Hangouts Meet
Google Meet, previously called Google Hangouts Meet, allows up to 250 users to participate in video meetings using their Google accounts.
4. Cisco Webex
With Webex Meetings, you can host meetings on any device, including Windows, Mac, iOS or Android. Using the app on your laptop or mobile, you can set up a meeting and send invitations via email.
5. BOTIM
Video calls can be made using BOTIM, which is approved by TDRA. The app allows you to call your saved contacts over audio or video.
There is an Android and Apple version available.
6. C’ME
You can make audio and video calls using C’Me, which is a messenger app that lets you chat with other users.
7. HiU Messenger
Both Apple and Android users can use HiU Messenger to make audio and video calls, as well as chat with other users who have the app installed.
8. Voico
You can chat and make audio and video calls with other Voico users, who have downloaded the app on Apple or Android devices.
9. Totok
A TDRA-approved app called Totok allows users to chat and make audio and video calls with others who have downloaded the app. Huawei, Apple, and Android devices are supported by the app.
10. Comera
With Comera, you can chat, place voice calls, and make video calls one-to-one on both Apple and Android devices.
11. GoChat
A free voice and video chat app, GoChat Messenger, was launched by Etisalat earlier this year. Android and Apple devices are supported by the app.
